2008 Wild Rockies Regional Championship Series Races:
Sat, April 12: 13th Annual Barking Spider Bash: 2008 RESULTS
Sat/Sun, June 7-8: 3rd Annual Janna Brimmer Memorial, Salmon, ID:ATTENTION- Downhill mountain biking on Saturday Afternoon!! Look forward to trail running (9am) and XC cross-country MTB (12pm) on Sunday. BIG prize $$$ for Pros and a BBQ to boot. Brad Duke says--"Go Big!!", come on up to Salmon for Free BBQ and showers in the city park on Saturday evening. Nearby camping and hot springs for those willing to adventure a bit.
Saturday, June 14: KNOBBY TIRE SERIES Pocatello City Creek XC, Pocatello, ID: XC mountain biking only. This one is a POINTS race for Wild Rockies series cross country. The Knobby Tire produced event starts in town and rolls up and down thru the pine forest. Single speeders try to break my course record of 2h:16min on the Pro/Expert course and you'll win a special prize!
Sat/Sun, June 21-22: 11th Annual Idaho City MTB Tour, Boise to Idaho City, Idaho and optional return. This is a recreational cycling adventure with proceeds benefiting SWIMBA, BYRDS, and the new Idaho Velodrome Cycling Park.A fully supported and staffed cross-country mountain bike tour covering 45mi. each day, shorter routes available. Come join us for a celebration of cycling and the summer solstice. DETAILS & REGISTRATION-Click Here.
Fri/Sat/Sun, July 11-13: 17th Annual Brundage Mtn Bike Festival, McCall, ID: Friday NIGHT--trail run, Saturday morning--XC mountain biking,and Super D (new dual points event)!! and of course, the Brundage Bomber downhill on Sunday. One of the most beautiful setting in the WR series. You'll appreciate the gorgeous surroundings and great time to be had at Brundage Mountain Resort.
FREE on-site camping when you bring a sleeping bag, tent or RV.
Sat/Sun, DH ONLY August 2-3: 10th Annual Pomerelle Pounder, Albion, ID: A 2-day downhill mountain biking event that is also a points round of the Utah State Championship DH Series. We have two different downhill courses -- one is fast and furious and the other is technical and rocky. Speed course on Saturday and technical course on Sunday. Pound or get pounded!! FREE Camping onsite, bring yer tent or RV.
Sunday, August 24: 3rd Annual XTERRA Wild Ride Triathlon, McCall, ID: Off-road tri-event featuring a 3/4mi. swim, then a challenging 19.5mi. mountain bike and 10K trail run. This is formatted for individual competition and two to three person teams. A very cool venue and terrific views for spectators! Amazing Campsites in the State Park for a small fee.
Friday Night, September 12: Bogus Basin Resort Championship Trail Run presented by SHU's Idaho Running Company , Boise, ID: One of the best running courses on the circuit. This "twilight" run is the 2nd annual event, we have set up a great course with 10K and 20K options.
Bring your headlamp!Free Camping, lots of room for tents and RV.
Sunday, September 14: 13th Annual Bogus to Boise BANZAI Super D presented by Idaho Mountain Touring. If you haven't tried this type of event and are new to mountain biking this could be the perfect race for you. 16.5mi of rolling downhill, you'll lose 4,500 vertical feet of elevation by the time it is all over. Huge party at the Boise Co-Op to celebrate your achievement afterwards.Free camping.
Sat/Sun, September 20-21: Bogus Basin Kamikaze Downhill, Hari-Kari ShortTrack XC and featuring the new, epic, long course XC dubbed the Samurai , (WILD ROCKIES is working in conjunction with KNOBBY TIRE SERIES & BSU Cycling Club to host the NCCA regional collegiate championships.)The final points racing for the WR series. These races will be some of the most demanding on the circuit. Do you have what it takes to be Samurai? When you complete all the events in the season-long series for DH. XC or running, you will recieve a special Grand Master prize.
