Are there places where you can take overnight mountain biking trips? Where you bring what you can in a bpack?

I’m interested in taking a camping/mountain biking trip. has any one heard of taking a back pack with things you may need and riding through the woods on trails and camping overnight and continueing the next day? If so where can you do this. I live in virginia but would travel to take a trip like this

i’m old, i’m thinkin some kinda trailer thing, with a tent maybe, on flat paved old railroad beds

i’m 46, it must be warm also, or just plain no
