Id say what he done was an option and not really essential or necessarily a faster way of doing the corner. its an extra variable you could do without especially on the rough unpredictable stuff

  2. sebpelter says:

you guys obviously know shit all about bike technique. this is a common technique, and it is designed to be used in this situation.
essentially he is increasing the length of the corner, and therefore making it eaiser and faster to go round.
watch any pro dh’er, steve peat, cedric gracia, sam hill.
i can also understand why people would be against it, due to track erosion, but all tracks need care, and when done correctly can increase your speed enough to make it worthwhile.

Are you kidding me? As a trailbuilder and MTB Advocate for trails on the west coast this is a slap to our faces. You should be ashamed, worst advice I’ve ever heard on YT. Your reasoning for making the turn is just absurd. Lower the seat and you can turn your bike easier…..simple as that. Hope you remove your stuttering advice………its terrible.

  21. fix0the0spade says:

Sliding’s a perfectly valid technique, it all depends on the trail surface you’re riding on. Round here the ground’s very sandy/gravelly, build up any kind of speed and you start getting sideways.
Yes it does erode trails very quickly but building tracks here in the first place is a none starter because the ground’s so soft, so it’s either ride what’s there (and slide around and erode it away until you find rocks or roots) or not ride at all.

  22. Hellafireleli says:

So thats how you get around . ic thx

  23. Buagar says:

This guy is an idiot, he must be the reason that we have to do so much work on our trails, stop skidding and ruining the trails!!

  24. madaboutrc says:

skidding will not benifit the rider at all. If you want to use this method then flick the bars into the turn thus pointing the frame in a direction that will offer a bigger apex. skiding-no need.

  25. nuttotis says:

wtf. last thing we need is a bunch of rear brake rodneys out there destroying good trail. stop the madness, listen to Vibrato444
