A Cool Weekend at Southern Idaho’s First Ever XTERRA Triathlon

 

Over 130 athletes enjoyed perfect weather and a beautiful mountain setting at Southern Idaho’s first-ever XTERRA Triathlon, the Wild Ride Off-Road Triathlon, held in McCall at Ponderosa State Park on August 27.  The event was also part of the Boise Co-Op 2006 Wild Rockies Mountain Series.   

 

The Wild Ride featured a ¾ mile swim in Payette Lake, a 19 ½ mile mountain bike leg and a 6 mile trail run and was sponsored and assisted by Nissan, Gatorade, GU, the Boise Co-Op, Duke Speed, Moto Tech, MBT Shoes, the Boise weekly, KIVI Television, J105 Radio, The X, Bandanna Running, Power Cordz, Gravity Sports, Brundage Mountain Resort, The US Forest Service, Alpine Sciences, the Idaho Department of Lands, Ponderosa State Park, Idaho Parks and Recreation, the McCall Chamber, the McCall-Donnelly Cross-Country Team, the McCall Banner Committee and Hometown Sports.
