2009 Colorado elk archery hunting: Come along with the Rocky Mountain Meat Hunter as he pursues the majestic Rocky Mountain Elk. Elk archery hunting is the most exciting hunt in North America. Enjoy the beauty of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains & the adrenaline rush of one man, his bow and the majestic bugles of bull elk. Filmed with a Canon HV20, in cinematic mode, presented in HD. Jeff Goodwin on Camera.
As for this year, we have 2 little kiddos (3 & under) and not alot of spare time so I don’t think I’ll be going archery. I’ve applied for mid-October either-sex rifle seasons for elk and a few units for mule deer buck. We’ll see what happens. So, I hope to back up to Summit County in the fall. Thanks so much for stopping by and for the kind words! Talk to you soon,
-Todd
I never thought of that (the hoochi mama call sounding like an alarm bark). I will definitely keep that in mind. I had a small bull bark at me a few years ago. It was crazy. Right on, lots of these youtubers watch the $10,000 paid hunts on here and think that’s the way it is for everybody! It’s hard work.
Im a local to Summit county my whole life. No other place beats elk hunting here. i love it. yes, summit elk are tricky and you REALLY have to watch out for the young quiet bulls. One thing though. that push call, do it slower cuz it sounds like an alarm bark. AMAZING vid though. and stay aggresive. this isnt TV they dont come to us often. if your ok with telling, where at in summit? and are you coming back for 2010 season?
Hi there,
Thanks for stopping by, for liking the videos and for the encouragement! Summit County is great. I have taken elk 2 of the last 3 years there (struck out this year). Yes, perhaps we will call each other in some day or, at the least, help each other pack out a monster!
Talk to you later & God bless!
-Todd
Good job. It’s nice to see a fellow Summit County doing it the hard way in God’s country. Keep it up and please post more vids. Maybe someday we’ll call each other in.
Good luck in 2010. Summit county bulls are not easy!
Right on! Yes, I too have shot with my pack on. I’m not sure why I take it off from time to time!! Thanks for visiting & for watching the video. Have a great day
Neat video. Your friend did a great job. I would like to make a couple suggestions for you. When moving, wear the pack, don’t drag it along. Your balance is off in that rough terrain and you aren’t ready if an animal presents itself. Pratice shooting with your pack on. The last 8 elk I have shot were with a frame pack on. You need to move FAST on elk, especially when they are moving away from you. Don’t worry about the noise you make since they think you are another elk. They are far from quiet.
Amen Brother.
Awesome video
Great video and great start to the series!
Yikes! I look and sound like somebody else? cRaZy!! Thanks so much for stopping by to watch my video(s). I hope to, God willing, post several more this fall & winter.
Rock on,
-Todd
Woah, you not only look, but sound like seth rogan. That just adds to the awesome of this video – looks like a great hunt!
Great work to you as well, Jeff. You are a mountain man at heart. Let’s scoot up that mountain in a few days in search of the elusive Wapiti!
Todd! I love the video! Great work!
Yes, that is a Hoochie Mama that my buddy was using. Thanks for stopping by and watching the video! God bless.

I loved the video. Just asking was that a hoocie mama call that you were using?
