all play and no work maces me a dull boy
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
Simplely a classic.
This film wasn’t filmed at The Stanley in Colorado. Stephen King did stay at the Stanley and even wrote some, if not all of the book, there. They now call it the Stephen King room. The Stanley is a pretty freaky hotel which explains why it inspired him to write this. The hotel is about 30 minutes from our house so we go there on occasion. They have a Halloween party every year that is fun.
creepy song XD
This piece is an adaptation of the the Dies Irae, from Berlioz’s Symphony Fantastique. Of course it’s disturbing, it’s the Judgment Day, the Day of Wrath!
also theme of between heaven and hell (1956)
No, not isolated. Towns where my uncle live are not very far away. A lot of people go there. I don’t think the whole movie was just filmed there, but I don’t know to much.
is the hotel really as isolated as it is in the film? or is it near towns and cities?
i got a bad feeling about you.
lol i like what “REDRUM” is backwards! ;P
Liar.
and the shot of Mr Halloran driving the snow cat was in oregon
im shining. REDRUM REDRUM
the entire movie was filmed at elstree studios in england. the exterior shots included, except for the first aerial shot of the hotel -but that place is in oregon. the hedge maze was built on an abandoned RAF airfield.
I went to the hotel in Colorado where this was filmed. Great hotel, they even sell shirts of this movie there.
A great film, although unless a real crap director takes one of King’s masterpieces on screen, they usually turn out great!
Those who have seen this movie will never forget.. “Here’s Johnny!!!”
