Train travel …. Rocky Mountaineer through the Rockies

We raced the train and got ahead of it five times to get the video. Taking this train with observation cars and balconies through the Rocky Mountains is definitely on our list of things to do.
GREAT VIDEO!!!! were you following us in a truck with some other people? I do remember a day when we were being taped =)
It never uses BNSF. BNSF uses CN where the Rocky Mountaineer goes in some places.
The train uses the BNSF line from Vancouver to New Westminster then switches to the CN line. It crosses at Mission to the CPR line then over to the CN line at Black Canyon West of Ashrcoft. Then switches to CPR line again at Kamloops. It actually splits in two…one goes to Jasper/Edmonton…the other to Banff/Calgary the next day. I did the trip two years ago…it was amazing. I rail fan’s dream!
Yup… Looked it up at wikipedia, and it runs on the CN line
Hmm good question. I’m thinking the CN line.
is the train driving on the CPR or CN line from kamloops?
Just dont take the Red Leaf service… trust me hahaha.
Brought back pleasant memories. The dome cars (Gold Leaf)is the way to do that trip.I have done 8 trips, each one was different. You will enjoy it,to say the least.
